01/ Overview
The route
The slightly hilly trail on the sun terrace of Sagogn offers fantastic views of the mountains surrounding the lower Surselva. Where golf balls fly in summer, we enjoy cross-country skiing and active relaxation from the daily grind in winter.
The five-kilometre trail begins in Sagogn, away from public transport; the nearest stop, Sagogn, Vitg dadens, is around 750 m away. At first, the route climbs gently across open meadows. After just over one kilometre, it reaches its highest point at around 770 m. The village remains close by, while open terrain defines the first part of the trail.
At the edge of Sagogn, the houses draw closer again. A little above the route, the Catholic Church of the Assumption stands on its hill; the trail, however, keeps its distance and continues through the open surroundings. It passes close to Restaurant VISTA without lingering for long in the built-up area. The trail then descends to around 735 m and sweeps back across the fields in a wide arc. After just over an hour, the cross-country skiing circuit ends back at its starting point in Sagogn.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
