01/ Overview

The route

The flat circular trail across the sunny plain near Trin Mulin offers magnificent views of the mountains around Trin and Flims. It is ideally suited for beginners and recognized as a popular "Herzloipe" (heart cross-country ski trail).

The short circular trail begins in Trin-Mulin, some distance from the nearest public transport stop. From Trin, Porclis, it is around 500 metres to the trailhead. Just after the start, the route reaches its highest point at just over 800 m. The trail then crosses open terrain with only minor changes in elevation and skirts the houses of Trin Mulin.

Continuing in a broad loop, the trail gradually descends to the lowest part of the circuit. Pintrun lies slightly off the route; the trail does not pass directly by the lake. It then climbs gently again. Over the three kilometres, there is a total elevation gain of only around 40 metres, so the rhythm is barely interrupted by any extended climbs. After approximately 45 minutes, the circuit closes back at the starting point in Trin-Mulin; the Trin, Porclis stop is also just under half a kilometre from the finish.

03/ Conditions

Current conditions

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.

  • How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.

  • How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.

  • Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.

How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
