01/ Overview
The route
At the far end of the wide valley floor, this gently undulating trail winds its way through a delightful landscape with typical Walser settlements and magnificent mountains. Its altitude and remoteness make it perfect for intensive training. Lucky visitors will find deer, chamois or ibexes along the way.
The starting point near Turrahus is around 300 m from the stop of the same name. From there, the seven-kilometre trail initially crosses broad, open terrain. The houses are soon left behind as the route climbs gently and rocky slopes enclose the valley. Gasslihof is located nearby, although the trail does not pass it directly.
After a good four kilometres, the circuit reaches its highest point at around 1'740 m, not far from the Schwarzhorn. The trail then descends again and leads to the Wanna balancing reservoir, running directly along its shore. Open terrain also characterises the return leg, which gains a little more height with a few short counter-climbs. After just under two hours, the circuit closes at the starting point near Turrahus; the stop of the same name is again around 300 m away.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
