Loipe Lenk–Zweisimmen

From Lenk to Zweisimmen along the roaring Simme: With the warming sun on the back, the cross-country ski trail in the valley offers a lot of variety and magnificent views of beautiful wooden houses, a castle and the surrounding mountains.

Near the Lenk, Erlebnisbad stop, the cross-country ski route begins at its highest point, at around 1,060 m. From the edge of the settlement, it leads out across open meadows and, apart from a few short counter-climbs, gently heads down the valley. The first few kilometres are broad and peaceful, with the open terrain affording views of the valley slopes.

Around the halfway point, houses draw closer again near Grodey and Sankt Stephan. The trail remains largely on the open valley floor and continues to lose elevation gradually on the way to Ried. Gentle undulations in the terrain set the rhythm.

In its final third, the trail reaches the area around Blankenburg. Schloss Blankenburg, located around 200 m off the route, is considered a historical monument of regional importance. The final open stretches before Zweisimmen then follow. After around twelve kilometres and just under three hours, the trail ends at approximately 930 m in Zweisimmen; the nearest stop, Zweisimmen (Talst. Rinderberg), is around 400 m away.
