01/ Overview
The route
Raised bog and meadows characterise this short, gently undulating cross-country ski trail near Finsterwald. From the former gas extraction site at Bohrplattform, it leads to Nesslebrunnebode before returning in a wide loop.
The roughly 3.6 km loop starts and finishes at Bohrplattform above Finsterwald. The former gas extraction site serves as the starting point, with a waxing table available in the shelter. Changing facilities, showers and toilets are located in the former schoolhouse. The start is not directly served by public transport: the nearest stop, Finsterwald LU, Kirche, is around 500 m away.
From Bohrplattform, the trail climbs gently through raised bog and across open meadows. Within the first kilometre, it reaches its highest point at around 1,080 m, remaining a good half-kilometre from Schafberg. The loop then continues through the open landscape near Finsterwald via Spüelemoos, Ob Chile and Nesslebrunnebode. After a flat curve, the village houses come into view before the trail crosses meadows back to Bohrplattform. It ends there just under an hour after setting off.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
