01/ Overview
The route
Cross-country skiing trail with guaranteed snow and view to the mountain range of Churfirsten. The trail leads mostly flat over the Madils Plateau.
From the Flumserberg, Tannenbodenwiese bus stop, it is just under 300 metres to the start of the trail in Madils. The four-kilometre circuit begins on gentle terrain and initially crosses damp meadows. With only minor climbs, the rhythm remains steady as the landscape gradually opens up. The Schwammchopf lies slightly away from the trail. Along the way, wet hollows alternate with broad meadows.
Around halfway, the trail reaches its highest point at approximately 1,420 m. It then descends in broad curves across open land, without entirely relinquishing its gentle undulations. The lowest point of the circuit comes near the end; a short counter-climb leads back to the starting elevation. After just over an hour, the circuit closes at the trailhead in Flumserberg, Madils.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
