Oberdorf-Gamperfin-Weg

Fleeing from the hustle and into the quiet, wonderful winter world of Gamperfin: this winter hiking path leads through sparse forests and untouched Alpine meadows with panoramic view to Säntis and the Alvier massif.

From the Wildhaus Oberdorf bus stop, it is only a few steps to the starting point by the Funi Bar. The winter hike initially climbs across open slopes. Passing Oelberg, the route continues uphill and reaches its highest point at around 1,440 m after just over three kilometres. Open terrain characterises this first section, interspersed with short stretches of woodland.

From the highest point, the circuit sweeps in a wide arc towards Skihaus Gamperfin, which lies directly on the route. The longer return leg then begins. It alternates between woodland and open pastures, gaining a few more metres of elevation along the way. Over the total distance of around ten kilometres, the ascent and descent each amount to approximately 460 metres. The trail initially remains above the village and only begins to descend more noticeably towards the end. After just under four hours, the circuit closes back at the Funi Bar and the Wildhaus Oberdorf bus stop.
