Parcours d'Auta Chia

During this circular hike, you will see the alpine chalets: Les Féguelenets, la Guisolanda or la Grosse Raynauda. Auta Chia offers you a magnificent panoramic view of La Gruyère and the peaks of the Fribourg Pre-Alps, before a pleasant descent into the forest.

It is only a few steps from the La Valsainte, Couvent bus stop to the starting point. The snowshoe trail leaves La Valsainte and climbs across open meadows and pastures. The roughly 14-kilometre circuit involves a total ascent of around 660 metres; a good six hours should be allowed for the entire tour.

Higher up, the route passes directly by Auta Chia. The Buvette des Gros Chaumiaux, by contrast, lies slightly off the route and is not passed. Shortly afterwards, the snowshoe circuit reaches its highest point near La Patta at around 1'480 metres. The longer return leg now begins, initially across open terrain and later increasingly through forest. The descent leads from the higher elevations back to La Valsainte. The final steps complete the circuit back at the starting point, with the La Valsainte, Couvent bus stop once again close by.
