Parcours du Mont-d'Amin

Much appreciated given its starting point close to the postbus stop, the route is very varied and explores typical Jura landscapes. When the weather is clear, as the name suggests, you will have a glorious view over the Alps.

From the Vue-des-Alpes stop, the snowshoe circuit begins directly on the Jura pass of the same name. Situated at just under 1'300 m between Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds, the pass owes its name to its Alpine panorama. The route initially climbs across open terrain, accompanied by the sweeping expanses of the Jura heights.

After around two kilometres, the highest point is reached at just over 1'400 m. The circuit then continues with gentle ascents and descents. Meadows and pastures initially dominate the scenery, before the forest closes in more densely around the route.

In the final third, the snowshoe trail passes close to Montperreux before descending to the lowest point of the circuit. One last ascent leads out of the forest and back onto the open expanses of the pass. After around seven kilometres and just under three hours, the circuit ends back at the Vue-des-Alpes stop.
