Schlittelweg Rosswald

From the sunny terrace of Rosswald down to the cable car valley station in Ried-Brig – first through a number of fast stretches, then on a more leisurely pace. Along the way you’ll pass through wintry conifer forests coated in snow and the Rosswald alpine pasture.

From the Rosswald stop, it is only a few steps to the start at around 1'820 m. The Glimmuschiir chapel and Restaurant Adler stand directly along the route. The seven-kilometre sledging run begins at its highest point and leads away from the houses. The forest soon takes over, defining most of the descent.

Meadows and pastures repeatedly open up between the trees. The nearest peak to the starting point is the Folluhorn, while the route descends steadily for a total of around 760 vertical metres. In the lower section, longer stretches of forest alternate with open terrain before the descent approaches the first houses of Ried-Brig. After just over an hour and a half, the sledging run ends at around 1'070 m in Ried-Brig, just under 300 metres from the Ried-Brig, Talstation LRR stop.
