01/ Overview
The route
Enjoy some snowy fun in an authentically charming setting by taking on the seven-kilometre sledge run between Blatten and Belalp. It crosses the village and follows a forest path with long curves.
The sledging run begins at the Belalp top station, immediately beside the Belalp stop and, at just under 2,100 m, also at the highest point of the route. From here, the sledging run leads through the houses of Belalp and out into open terrain. It descends via Bäll, dropping a total of around 780 metres over seven kilometres.
The middle section continues to be characterised by small settlements and open slopes. After Täätsche, the route descends further to Tschuggen and Müolera. Open spaces and clusters of houses shape the scenery before Hasul is reached.
Below Hasul, the forest draws closer. On the final section, the route enters the trees; the Rischinerwald barbecue site lies just over 100 m away. The sledging run loses its final metres of elevation and reaches the Blatten-Belalp valley station after a good hour and a half. The Blatten b. Naters, Massa bus stop is just under 100 m away.
