01/ Overview
The route
The Untertrübsee Snowshoe Trail is a wonderful way to explore nature as you wander through the Gerschniwald forest at the foot of the Titlis, leaving your tracks in the fresh powder snow.
From the Gerschnialp stop, it is only a few steps to the starting point at Gerschni Station. At around 1,270 m, this is already the highest point of the snowshoe tour. The four-kilometre loop initially crosses open terrain before gradually descending towards the forest. Among the trees, the surroundings become more enclosed; the gentle descent continues to the lowest point of the route.
The snowshoe trail then climbs again. On the way back, forest alternates with open areas, with wet meadows lining the loop in places. In total, there are around 150 metres of elevation change, spread across the descent and the subsequent climb. Towards the end, the terrain opens up once more. After a good hour and a half, the loop ends back at Gerschni Station, close to the Gerschnialp stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Snowshoeing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
