01/ Overview
The route
Circular route through dense forest to the Schwändiblueme at about 1,390 m; viewpoint at the Dreiländerstein and open pastures. Just under 8 km, around 320 m of ascent, about 2 hours 20 minutes.
The starting point is Heiligenschwendi, directly at the Hünibode bus stop. The path climbs quickly into the shady forest and gains height steadily. Soon it reaches the Dreiländerstein, a viewpoint situated right beside the trail. Shortly afterwards the Schwändiblueme is reached at about 1,390 m; the rise belongs to the Emmentaler Alps and overlooks Lake Thun.
The return leads through changing stands of forest and open pastures; wide hiking tracks alternate with short sections off marked paths. Toward the end the route passes the Feuerplatz Hünibode and closes the loop in Heiligenschwendi. The distance is just under 8 km, with around 320 m of ascent and an estimated duration of about 2 hours 20 minutes. The circuit is well suited as a compact forest-and-upland hike with a rewarding view from the summit.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
