01/ Overview
The route
Discover the unique high-alpine flora and lake landscape of the Upper Engadine on this hiking circuit to the six 6 Lejins (Romansh: small lakes). The lakes are named after the minerals and rock types they contain.
The circuit begins at Furtschellas middle station, just a few steps from the actual starting point. The mountain trail, marked in white-red-white, climbs steadily across open slopes. Over the first two kilometres or so, it gains most of the total 420 metres of elevation. The terrain becomes increasingly rocky until the highest point of the hike is reached at around 2,660 m.
The trail then descends to Lejin Malachit and runs directly along its shore. Sweeping in a wide arc through the open high-mountain landscape, the route initially leads downhill before continuing with gentle ascents and descents. Towards the end, another small mountain lake, Lejin Epidot, lies directly beside the trail. From there, the circuit closes at Furtschellas middle station. Just over two hours should be allowed for the six kilometres.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
