01/ Overview
The route
A demanding descent from the open slopes near Murtèl to Lejin Epidot, via Alp Prasüra and through the first houses of Sils Maria.
The route starts at the Murtèl stop at just over 2,600 m, near Chastelets. At first, a mountain trail descends gently through open terrain; the highest point of the roughly eight-kilometre tour is right at the start. The descent of almost 1,000 metres in elevation is demanding and at times crosses unmarked terrain. Broad slopes accompany the route before it leads down to Lejin Epidot, which lies directly on the way.
After the small mountain lake, the descent continues downhill. Across open pastures, the route leads to the La Chüdra mountain inn and down to Alp Prasüra. Lower down, forest replaces the open slopes, and the first houses of Crastas Dadains appear at Furtschellas. Through Sils Maria, the route passes the Reformed Church to the finish at the Sils/Segl Maria, Chesa Cumünela stop.
