01/ Overview
The route
Across open Jura heights and through quiet stretches of woodland, this circular hike follows the wind turbines near Les Breuleux. Villages and broad pastures alternate as far as the highest point near Mont Soleil.
The starting point at Les Envers is not served by public transport; the nearest stop, Les Breuleux, est, is just over two kilometres away. Initially, the broad hiking trail descends across open Jura heights. The route passes directly by the Buvette du Téléski, followed by the houses of Les Ravières and a short stretch of woodland.
In lower-lying Les Breuleux, the Sentier des éoliennes crosses the village; the de la Balance restaurant is close to the trail. The circuit then turns back towards the heights. Meadows and pastures characterise the ascent, with stretches of forest providing shade in between. The wind turbines form the common thread running through this themed trail.
Near Mont Soleil, the route reaches its highest point at around 1,250 m. From there, the hiking trail leads gently up and down across the open plateau back to the starting point. After around 12.5 km and just over three hours, the circuit ends back in Les Envers.
