Tour de La Palette

A little paradise in the Vaud Alps: Lake Retaud, which reflects the majestic Diablerets Massif. The views of Feutersoey and Lake Arnon from the foot of La Palette are also amazing. At the Isenau and Vieux chalets, the typical Etivaz cheese is available.

The circular hike starts at the Col-du-Pillon, Glacier 3000 bus stop at the top of the pass. From the outset, the hiking trail crosses open pastures to Lac Retaud, whose shore lies directly on the route. The trail then continues through largely open terrain. Beyond Resto d’Isneau, the longer ascent begins, with the starting point receding further into the distance at every step.

Higher up, the route joins a mountain hiking trail. Shortly before the Col des Andérets, it reaches its highest point at just over 2,000 m. The trail crosses the pass and continues through high pastures to the Col de Voré. The circuit then gradually loses altitude. Over the final few kilometres, the trail becomes easier again and leads across open slopes back to the Col du Pillon. After nine kilometres and just over three hours, the hike ends once again directly at the bus stop.
