01/ Overview

The route

From the UNESCO World Heritage site of Sardona the new Trutg dil Flem trail follows the Flem stream from Segnesboden, past bizarre rock formations and breathtaking gorges through Europe's largest landslide to Flims.

The mountain hike begins directly at the Nagens Sura mountain station. The mountain trail initially continues uphill, reaching its highest point near Crap Ner at around 2,240 m. The long descent then begins: across open terrain and along rocky slopes, the route leads towards Segnas. The waterfall lies a little off the trail, while the Segneshütte is not passed directly either.

Further down, the mountain trail leads to the Beiz Startgels mountain inn, which stands directly on the route. The broad meadows and pastures now give way to forest. After the Punt Gronda water intake, with its barbecue area, the first houses of Flims draw closer. Over the final few kilometres, the trail once again loses considerable elevation and reaches Flims after around 14 km and just over four hours. The Flims Dorf (Talstation Foppa) bus stop is just a few steps from the finish.

03/ Conditions

Current conditions

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.

  • How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.

  • How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.

  • How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
