01/ Overview
The route
A short urban walk through Ueberlandpark: planted concrete, drought-tolerant oaks and small habitats show how nature finds its place between Aubrücke and Frohburg.
From the Zürich, Aubrücke stop, this short urban walk leads into Ueberlandpark. Right at the start, the planted concrete outcrop by Aubrücke creates an unusual contrast between the road and the surrounding green spaces. Drought-tolerant oaks grow at Aubrugg-Belvedere; here, the park links Zürichberg with Glatttal.
The route continues through the Saatlen underpass to Saatlenterrasse. The pavilion, Mauergarten and Schöneich-Parterre illustrate how habitats can be interconnected even in a densely built-up environment. Small-scale structures provide space for animals and plants without diminishing the urban character. As an open-air laboratory for urban nature, Ueberlandpark encourages attention to the inconspicuous details along the route.
The route climbs gently across open spaces and between the buildings. At Waldgarten, the final section towards Frohburg begins. After just over a kilometre, the route reaches its highest point at around 450 m. The walk ends at the Zürich, Frohburg stop.
