01/ Overview
The route
A steep section of the Uri Legends Trail via Wanggrat and Höreli: challenging mountain paths, open pastures and views of Lake Lucerne accompany the route from Isenthal to Bolzbach.
From the Isenthal, Dorf bus stop, the Uri Legends Trail leads past St. Theodul and out of the village. The steep ascent begins by the historic Chlitalerweg and the Gietisfluh valley station with its exhibition. The mountain path climbs through woodland and across open pastures; a short section runs outside the marked trail network. Legends from the «Urner Sagen» audiobook provide the theme for the route, while a legends experience site awaits on Wanggrat.
The final ascent to Höreli then demands sure-footedness. Near Schartihöreli, the route reaches its highest point at around 1,670 m; the rest area is ideal for a break. The long descent begins via Mittst Scharti and Chilenrütti, initially through open terrain and later increasingly through woodland. At Plattenberg, views open up down to Lake Lucerne. The mountain path continues via Bodmi to Bolzbach. The nearest bus stop, Seedorf UR, Bolzbach, is around 750 m from the end of the route.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
