Varied and pleasant paths lead through forests, past dry stone walls and over many small streams. Nature dominates here on the pass from Sopra to Sottoceneri. Along old trails and mule tracks, you reach Tesserete.

From Bellinzona railway station, the 23-kilometre hike initially passes through built-up areas to Giubiasco and Camorino. The first few kilometres follow hiking trails before the route leaves the valley floor. Beyond Camorino, the mountain trail climbs sharply, alternating between forest and open meadows. With around 1'250 metres of ascent, this stage requires stamina.

Near Matro, the route reaches its highest point at just over 1'000 metres. It then descends to Isone, passing directly by the church of San Lorenzo, first documented in 1452. Open stretches and sections of forest characterise the onward route towards Gola di Lago, while the trail in between often remains steep and narrow.

Via Lelgio and other small settlements, the hike approaches Tesserete. Shortly before the destination, the church of Santo Stefano, built in the 9th century, stands directly beside the route. A little later, the tour of a good seven and a half hours ends at the Tesserete, Stazione bus stop.
