01/ Overview
The route
This circular snowshoe trail leads the Alp FIix. An upland moor of national importance. It offers peace, a wonderful landscape and the view of the Piz Platta.
The snowshoe hike begins in the village of Sur at the Sur, baselgia bus stop. For the first few kilometres, the route climbs steadily through open meadows and pastures, interspersed with short sections of forest. After just over an hour, it passes directly by the church of Son Placi e Son Roc. Beyond the church, the ascent becomes steeper and continues towards Motta digl Lai Neir.
Around halfway along the seven-kilometre circuit, the highest point is reached at just over 2,000 m, some 420 vertical metres above the start. The route then descends into the open terrain near Tgalucas and continues to Cuorts. The Lais da Flix lie around 400 m off the route. The return leg follows a longer descent across pastures and through the forest back to Sur. After around three and a half hours, the snowshoe hike ends near the Sur, baselgia bus stop.
