01/ Overview
The route
A versatile excursion for the whole family: silence will await the hikers between the spruces, action can be found afterwards in the skiing region and the conclusive visit of the local history museum or the Arosa Bear Sanctuary will be informative – always accompanied by the impressive panorama.
From the Arosa, Prätschli bus stop, the winter hike leaves the village district behind and heads into open terrain. The route initially climbs steadily, reaching Brüggerstuba after just over two kilometres. The highest section lies below Tschugga, where the trail crosses the broad slopes at just over 2,050 m.
Shortly afterwards, the Hintere Hütte reservoir lies almost directly beside the route. The reservoir is close to the highest point and marks the transition from the ascent to a longer downhill section. The winter hike remains mostly in open terrain as it gradually loses elevation over the next few kilometres.
In the final third, the route passes Alpenblick and continues to the first houses of Innerarosa. After around six kilometres and just over two hours, it ends in Innerarosa, only a few steps from the Arosa Gada bus stop.
