01/ Overview
The route
A lot of sunshine and even more panoramic views: On the mountain path, the winter hikers enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding mountain peaks and the frozen lake Heidsee.
The roughly three-hour winter hike begins at the Lenzerheide/Lai, Post bus stop, among the houses of Lenzerheide. The route soon leaves the village behind and climbs across open terrain. By Restaurant Acla Grischuna, most of the ascent has been completed; shortly afterwards, the circuit reaches its highest point at just under 1'800 m, with Piz Scalottas nearby.
The winter hiking trail now leads mostly downhill, first across broad slopes, then through wooded sections and on to the houses of Spoina. The route continues down towards the valley, alternating between open areas and woodland. In the final third, the Valos reservoir lies just over 200 m off the trail. The first houses of Lenzerheide then draw closer again. The route leads back through the village to the post office, where the circuit ends at the same bus stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Winter hiking is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
