Mittelberg-Weg

This cozy hike leads to the old mountain hut settlement in Mittelberg and offers a beautiful natural experience. Along the way, you can visit the Alpine Cheese Dairy and before the destination, a visit to the Schlössli Parpan (small castle) is recommended.

From the Parpan, Post bus stop, the winter hike initially leads through the village and past the listed Reformed church. Between the houses, the route climbs via Kuonrigenhus to Tschuggen. The surroundings then become more open, and the steady ascent continues towards Hennabüel. After a little over two kilometres, the highest point is reached at around 1'670 m; the wooded Hennabüel lies slightly off the route.

The circuit now continues through meadows and pastures. Around halfway, a small restaurant stands directly on the route, so no detour is required. This is followed by a longer, gentle descent through open terrain back to the inhabited valley floor. Near Heimberg, the lowest section of the circuit is almost reached. The final stretch leads once more between the houses of Parpan. Close to the finish stands the Schlössli, built around 1550; shortly afterwards, the winter hike of just over two hours ends back at the Parpan, Post bus stop.
