01/ Overview
The route
Round tour above Arosa, past the history-charged Guisanplatz and over the Scheidegg. This winter hike will offer you a wide view over the elongated valley Schanfigg.
The approximately six-kilometre winter hike begins at the Arosa, Prätschli bus stop. It initially leads away from the houses and onto open slopes. Gently ascending and descending, the route winds through the area above Arosa, while Prätschalp and Unter Prätschsee remain slightly off the trail.
Around halfway, the winter hiking trail reaches the Rot Tritt viewpoint. It then continues uphill to the highest point at around 2,100 m, near Maraner Hauptji. The total ascent is just over 200 metres, spread across several short climbs rather than one long ascent.
In the second half, open terrain alternates with sections of woodland. Towards the end, the circular route passes close to Ober Prätschsee before descending once more to the houses of Prätschli. The small lake lies only a few steps from the route. After just over two hours, the Arosa, Prätschli bus stop is reached.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
