The route
Recharge your batteries off the ski pistes at Fahrnigenboden on Axalp, a small and friendly winter destination high above Lake Brienz boasting majestic views of the surrounding mountains.
The three-kilometre circular cross-country ski trail starts at the Axalp, Sportbahnen bus stop. Right from the outset, it passes the Axalp StĂŒbli and climbs between the houses of Axalp. After just over half a kilometre, the highest point is reached at around 1'550 m.
The trail then descends across open terrain. The final third includes a few more metres of ascent before the circuit returns to the ski lifts and nearby bus stop after just under an hour.
