01/ Overview
The route
The Sörenberg village trail crosses open meadows and broad expanses of moorland with only a few climbs. Almost seven kilometres for classic cross-country skiing or skating, with several access points around Sörenberg Platz.
From the Sörenberg Platz bus stop, it is only a few steps to the access point at Habchegg and the valley station of the Brienzer Rothorn cable car. The almost seven-kilometre village trail is groomed for classic cross-country skiing and skating. Thanks to the minimal elevation changes, it is also suitable for first outings on cross-country skis. It initially crosses the open ground on the edge of the village and passes Chalet Sörenberg.
With only a few ascents and descents, the trail winds through meadows and broad expanses of moorland. Around the halfway point, it climbs gently to its highest point at approximately 1'270 m near Arnitriste. It then returns towards Sörenberg over similarly gentle terrain. After just over an hour and a half, the circuit closes at Habchegg and the valley station; the Sörenberg Platz bus stop is around 80 m away.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
