01/ Overview
The route
A little gem: The Thorbach cross-country skiing trail passes through simple terrain with view of the Schrattenfluh with its striking peaks.
The start of the two-kilometre trail is just a few steps from the Flühli LU, Torbach bus stop. It initially heads towards Flühli and soon reaches its lowest point at around 880 m. The houses are quickly left behind as the trail leads out of the village across open meadows.
The circuit climbs gently in a broad curve, gaining around 30 metres in elevation. After just over a kilometre, it reaches its highest point at about 920 m; the Bärsilichopf is the nearest named summit. The trail then descends again and crosses the broad, largely open meadow landscape to Hüttlenen. Towards the end, the houses of Flühli draw closer once more. After just over half an hour, the short circuit closes at its starting point in Thorbach, a few steps from the bus stop.
