01/ Overview
The route
A short circular trail for classic cross-country skiing and skating: from Escholzmatt railway station, it crosses flat, open terrain on the edge of the village before returning to the starting point via Bühlti.
The nearly two-kilometre Escholzmatt-Industrie circular trail starts directly beside Escholzmatt railway station. The trailhead is just a few steps from the trains on the Bern–Luzern line. The trail initially leads out of the village and soon reaches open terrain. Elevation differences remain minimal, with only around 20 metres between the start and the lowest point. The circuit takes just under half an hour.
The trail sweeps in a broad arc through the industrial zone and across the open ground on the outskirts of Escholzmatt. It forms part of the Marbach–Escholzmatt–Bumbach cross-country ski trail network and is suitable for both classic and skating techniques. Towards the end, the circuit passes Bühlti and draws closer to the houses again. Shortly before the finish, it climbs gently to its highest point at around 860 m before returning to Escholzmatt railway station.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
