01/ Overview
The route
A short cross-country skiing circuit through meadows and woodland: from Wiggen, the trail climbs to Längmatt before returning along the same track to Wiggengut.
From the Wiggen, Egghus bus stop, it is only a few steps to the start at Wiggengut. The roughly four-and-a-half-kilometre trail initially leads across open meadows and out of Wiggen. Leaving Wittenmoosmühle behind, it gains elevation steadily towards Schartenmatt. Suitable for both classic and skating technique, it passes through peaceful, agricultural countryside.
Higher up, the forest draws closer. At around 870 m, the route reaches its highest point near Guggchnubel; the summit itself lies away from the trail. From there, gentler ups and downs lead towards Längmatt. Before the farm, the loop turns back and rejoins the same track.
The return route once again alternates between woodland and open terrain, passing Wissenbach on the way back to Wiggengut. After just under two hours, the circuit ends back in Wiggen.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
