Chemin de Raimeux

At an altitude of 1301 m, Mt. Raimeux is located on the border between the Canton Jura and the Bernese Jura. The views from the summit of the valley of Delémont are spectacular. When the weather is clear, even the Alps are visible in the distance. Surrounded by waterfalls and gorges, the Gore Virat creek is the jewel of the Raimeux mountain range.

From the Corcelles BE bus stop, the hiking trail leads out of the village and soon enters the forest. The long, steady ascent defines the first half of the route, with around 700 metres of elevation to be gained in total. Meadows and pastures repeatedly open up between the trees before the trail reaches the heights of Mont Raimeux.

After around two hours, the highest point of the hike is reached on the 1,302-metre ridge. Mont Raimeux stands on the border between the cantons of Bern and Jura. A little further on, the route passes Restaurant Le Signal. Here, the scenery alternates between open terrain and sparse woodland.

The long descent to Grandval then begins. The broad hiking trail steadily loses elevation and re-enters the forest before the first houses of the village come into view. After around eleven kilometres and just under four hours, the route ends at the Grandval bus stop.
