01/ Overview
The route
A lovely walk in the countryside with the delightful surprise of spotting deer in the clearing of the forest. Stop off at the “snow village” at the Tobogganing Park to visit the magical land of igloos.
It is only a few steps from the Leysin, patinoire bus stop to the Centre sportif. The four-kilometre winter hike begins here, next to the Restaurant de la Patinoire. The route initially climbs gently across open terrain, reaching its highest point at around 1,260 metres after approximately one kilometre. It then continues towards Igloos, with a few short uphill sections along the way.
The circuit soon enters the forest and descends to the lowest point of the route. After just over an hour, the houses of Crettaz come into view. The route climbs gently again between the houses before making a final loop back to Leysin. After a total of just over an hour and around 100 metres of ascent, the winter hike ends back at the Centre sportif, right by the Leysin, patinoire bus stop.
