01/ Overview
The route
A short cross-country ski loop on the outskirts of Marbach, with views of the Schrattenfluh and Schibengütsch. Groomed for both classic and skating techniques, the trail crosses open terrain before returning to the village.
The village cross-country ski loop, just over four kilometres long, starts in Marbach, close to the Marbach Talstation bus stop. Changing rooms, showers, a waxing room and lockers are available in the village. From the outset, views open up across the landscape of the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch towards the Schrattenfluh and Schibengütsch.
The trail initially climbs gently across open meadows. After around one and a half kilometres, it reaches its highest point at Lütscherligütsch, at just over 940 m. The loop then descends gently and approaches the houses of Marbach once more. It passes directly by the Ranch-Beizli, while the Sportbahnen Marbachegg are a little further away.
On the final section, the trail remains on the edge of the village and leads back with views of the surrounding heights. The loop is groomed for both classic and skating techniques and can also be used as an illuminated evening trail. After just over an hour, it ends back in the village of Marbach, just under 250 m from the Marbach LU, Dorf PostBus stop.

How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
