Flimspitz-Rundweg

A hike around the Flimspitz and past five beautiful clear lakes. The trail crosses the terrain of Alp Trida with countless boulders left behind after a rock fall. The backdrop: the peaks of the three-country corner of Switzerland - Austria - Italy.

From the Alptrider Sattel stop, the starting point at Alp Trider Sattel can be reached in just a few minutes. The mountain trail initially descends gently across open pastures. This is followed by a long ascent, leading into increasingly rocky terrain as it gains height. The entire circuit involves around 600 metres of ascent.

Shortly before the Flimjoch, the route reaches its highest point at around 2,760 m. The Bürkelkopf rises nearby, although the trail does not lead to its summit. Beyond the Flimjoch, the circuit continues through barren terrain. The narrow mountain trail requires care, but rewards with sweeping views across the Samnaun group. The return leg begins after the Ausser Viderjoch. It passes the small Viderjoch reservoir before continuing across more open slopes. After a good three hours, the circuit ends back at Alptrider Sattel, from where it is only a short walk to the stop.
