01/ Overview
The route
Dynamic sledging fun through the natural landscape on the foothills of Chäserrugg. During the ride over meadows, through woods and curves always in view: the panorama of Alpstein.
The sledging run begins at the Stöfeli middle station at around 1,680 m, which is also the highest point on the route. Close to the Chäserrugg, the six-kilometre descent gets under way. It initially heads downhill across open slopes, quickly losing elevation.
After around two kilometres, the descent passes directly by the Iltios mountain restaurant. Beyond this point, the terrain remains open for long stretches. The Oberguet-Stübli is also located close to the route before it continues down into the valley in one long sweep. In total, the run descends around 780 metres.
Towards the end, the sledges reach the first houses of Unterwasser. From the open-air swimming pool, it is only a few more minutes to the Iltiosbahn. The sledging run ends at the railway; the Unterwasser, Chäserrugg Bahn bus stop is immediately adjacent.
