01/ Overview
The route
On Prodalp at Flumserberg sledge riders can ride very fast. Nevertheless: for the panoramic view to the mighty summits of Churfirsten it is worth to break shortly.
From the Prodalp bus stop, it is only a few steps to the start of the toboggan run. At around 1,575 m, below Schwammchopf, this is also the highest point of the route. From here, the two-kilometre descent leads downhill across open terrain. At first, Prodalp is still broad and open. The route drops around 360 metres in elevation, with a total riding time of just under half an hour.
In the middle section, the toboggan run crosses wet meadows before entering the forest. The transition from broad open terrain to wooded slopes defines this short descent. Towards the end, the first houses of Tannenheim come into view as the route continues to lose elevation. The finish is at just over 1,200 m in Flumserberg Tannenheim; the bus stop of the same name is only a few steps from the end point.
