01/ Overview
The route
Besides numerous pistes, the home of skiing star Vreni Schneider also offers a thrilling toboggan run amid the Elm mountainscape. Enjoy an action-packed descent with a view of the Tschingelhörner and the Martinloch.
The three-kilometre descent begins at Ämpächli, the highest point on the route at just under 1,500 m. The nearby Empächli stop is only a few steps from the start. Restaurant Älpli is located not far from the starting point, though not directly on the descent. Initially, the toboggan run crosses open terrain, steadily losing elevation. The Schabell lies nearby, while the slopes open out towards the valley.
Further down, the descent enters the forest. In total, it drops around 460 metres in elevation, with approximately 40 minutes allowed for the route. Between open slopes and trees, the course continues clearly downhill until the first houses of Elm come into view. After the final downhill stretch, the toboggan run ends at the cableways; the Elm (Talstation) stop is immediately beside the finish.
