01/ Overview
The route
Not every toboggan run offers this much variety. Take a thrilling downhill ride from Grotzenbüel to the Hüttenberg near Braunwald, over pistes and roads and through woodlands – with a panoramic view of Glarus Alps along the way.
The toboggan ride begins at the Grotzenbüel (Hüttenberg) stop at around 1'560 m, the highest point on the route. The Chämistube is right by the start. From here, the two-kilometre toboggan run descends across open slopes. Over this short distance, it drops around 260 metres in elevation. The entire descent takes approximately 25 minutes.
In the lower section, the houses of Braunwald draw closer. After around one and a half kilometres, the route reaches the built-up area as the open terrain gradually recedes. Shortly before Hüttenberg, the toboggan run passes Restaurant Cristal and continues downhill to around 1'300 m. A little later, the descent ends at Braunwald, Hüttenberg. The stop of the same name is located directly by the finish.
