Fisetenpass Run

The cable-car takes you from Urnerboden, Switzerland’s largest alp, to the Fiseten pass and on the sledge you ride down into the valley. The slope is always well prepared. The route begins with a steep, windig section and becomes flatter.

The sledging descent begins at Fisetenpass at just over 2,000 m. This packhorse pass lies on the Fisetengrat ridge between Urnerboden and the headwaters of the Linth. The actual starting point is some distance from public transport; the nearest stop, Urnerboden, Sonne, is around one and a half kilometres away. Shortly after the start, the route reaches its highest point at around 2,030 m, near the Rotstock.

The long descent across open terrain then begins. At first, the route traverses the broad slopes of Urnerboden before woodland signals the approach of the valley floor. In the lower section, the first houses draw closer; the chapel of St. Erhard stands a little way off the route. After around eight kilometres and almost 700 vertical metres, the ride ends among the houses of Urnerboden, just under 300 m from the Urnerboden, Dorf stop.
