01/ Overview
The route
One of the region’s longest toboggan runs: over five kilometres long, it alternates between rapid forest descents, bends and comfortable sections across meadows. Along the way, there are magnificent views of Lake Walen, the Churfirsten mountains and all the way to the Zurich Oberland.
The sledging run begins at the Habergschwänd stop at around 1,280 m, the highest point of the route. The Berggasthaus Habergschwänd stands right beside it; from here, the six-kilometre descent begins. Near Sunnenspitz, it initially leads steeply downhill across open terrain. Open expanses characterise the start before the first longer forest sections follow.
As the route continues, the forest draws ever closer. Talalpsee lies around 450 m off the route and is not reached directly. The sledging run continues downhill between clearings and denser rows of trees, descending around 540 vertical metres in total. Towards the end, the first houses of Filzbach come into view. After around one hour and 20 minutes, the descent ends at about 730 m near the Filzbach (Habergschwänd Talst) stop.
