01/ Overview

The route

From Andiast, this stage leads to sun-drenched Brigels, which sits on a high plateau with its houses that are browned by the sun, the historic village centre and the stunning Lake Brigels. With a view of the Vorderrhein, you cross alpine meadows and mountain streams until you arrive in historic Trun.

From the «Andiast, vitg» bus stop, the mountain trail leads out of the village. It initially climbs eastwards across meadows and through short stretches of forest. After just over four kilometres, the elongated Lag da Breil lies directly on the route, nestled amid open slopes.

Shortly afterwards, near Breil/Brigels, the trail reaches its highest point at just under 1,300 metres. The ruins of Marmarola Castle stand nearby. The mountain trail then descends again, continuing across pastures and through forest to Dardin. Beyond the village, longer descents follow, punctuated by occasional counter-climbs that repeatedly lead back into open terrain.

The houses of Schlans mark the final third of the route. From here, the route descends more steeply towards the valley floor, crosses another stretch of forest and reaches the first houses of Trun. After around 16 kilometres and just under five hours, the hike ends in the village.

    • Trun - Val Zinzera

      From 1 Sept 2026 – Until 30 Oct 2026

Am vergangenen Freitagabend zog ein heftiges Gewitter über die Gemeinde Trun. Dabei ging ein grosser Murgang in der Val Zinzera nieder, infolgedessen ist der Wanderweg nicht mehr passierbar.

How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.

  • How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
