01/ Overview
The route
This hike offers a wonderful spectacle of nature: light-green lakes set in the heart of a barren mountain landscape. Highly recommended!
The circular hike begins at Wägerhus, directly by the Wägerhus/Abzw. Jöriseen bus stop. A long ascent defines the opening section. The total climb of 900 metres requires stamina. From the very first step, the mountain trail leads through open, increasingly rocky terrain. After just over three kilometres, the highest point is reached near Flüela Wisshorn at 2,787 m; shortly afterwards, the route crosses the Winterlücke.
Beyond the gap, the mountain trail continues through the barren high-alpine landscape to Jöriflüelafurgga. This section is dominated by rock, before open terrain once again becomes more prominent. From the second pass, the circular route descends back towards the starting point. The entire hike follows a mountain trail marked in white-red-white.
After around eleven kilometres, the hike of just over four hours ends back at Wägerhus, directly by the Wägerhus/Abzw. Jöriseen bus stop.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
There may be snow on this hiking trail. Bring appropriate gear and plan accordingly.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
