01/ Overview
The route
A gentle ascent with a fantastic view - every step of the way up is rewarded with a view of majestic mountain peaks. By clear weather you can see as far as Grossglockner and Mount Blanc.
From the Susch, Abzw. Schwarzhorn bus stop, the mountain trail begins climbing without much of a warm-up. Open pastures are soon left behind as the terrain becomes increasingly rocky. The route continues uphill via the Schwarzhorafurgga, with the summit always firmly in sight. The roughly four kilometres to the top involve a good 800 metres of ascent.
The Schwarzhorn is the highest point in the Davos region. The long ascent ends at the highest point of the hike, at around 3,150 m. Rocky high-alpine terrain characterises this section, which follows a white-red-white waymarked mountain trail throughout.
For the return, the route heads back towards the Schwarzhorafurgga. With every step, the rocks become less dominant until open meadows and pastures return. After around eight kilometres and just under four hours, the hike ends back at the bus stop. The sustained ascent and long descent require good fitness and concentration.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
There may be snow on this hiking trail. Bring appropriate gear and plan accordingly.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
