Kemmeriboden–Bumbach Trail

This snowshoe trail begins at the Kemmeriboden-Bad country inn and heads along the left bank of the burgeoning Emme through a variety of forests, meadows, and hamlets. It begins with a climb that is rewarded with views of the mountain range of the Alps.

From the Kemmeriboden bus stop, the snowshoe tour begins at Kemmeriboden Bad. The restaurant of the same name lies a short distance off the route. The route initially climbs through open countryside. After just under one kilometre, it reaches its highest point at around 1,040 m, not far from Brünneligrind. The most significant climb therefore comes right at the start; the route then begins to lose elevation again. In total, there are around 190 metres of ascent and 260 metres of descent.

Further on, broad meadows and pastures alternate with stretches of forest. Short counter-climbs keep the snowshoe tour varied despite its overall downward course. After around two hours, the first houses of Bumbach come into view. The final section descends to the route’s lowest point at just over 910 m and ends near the Bumbach, Skilift bus stop.
