Schneeschuhtrail Hirsegg–Chlus

This somewhat more challenging tour leads through the stunning landscape beneath the Schrattenfluh and its striking karst formations. The hike ends at the Chlushütte (mountain hut), located at the foot of the Böli, where incredible panoramic views across the Brienzer Rothorn range and the Bernese Alps await you.

The snowshoe tour begins directly at the Sörenberg, Hirsegg bus stop. Initially, the route climbs through open terrain, with wet meadows and moorland characterising the surroundings. Near the Schlund alpine farm, the long ascent continues. A good six hours should be allowed for the eleven kilometres and around 760 metres of elevation gain.

Higher up, the surroundings become rockier. The highest point lies at just under 1,800 m near the Böli, whose actual summit remains off the route. Shortly afterwards, a fountain stands directly beside the route; from here, the return leg follows a longer descent back across the open terrain. Towards the end, the wet meadows return before the circuit finishes after a total of around eleven kilometres at the Sörenberg, Hirsegg bus stop.
