Klewenalp-Emmetten-Schlittelweg

First-rate tobogganing fun: the region's longest toboggan run can be reached on the longest aerial cableway in Central Switzerland – complete with lake view.

The eleven-kilometre sledging run begins at the Klewenalp stop. Right at the start, the route passes the Klewenkapelle; a little later, near the Klewenstock, it reaches its highest point at around 1,600 m. This almost cone-shaped mountain, rising to 1,748 m, dominates the Klewenalp area.

The descent then heads down the valley over open slopes and through longer stretches of forest. After around five kilometres, it passes directly by Alpgädeli and shortly afterwards reaches the houses of Stockhütte, roughly halfway along the route. Between the open areas and the forest, the route descends a total of around 900 vertical metres.

In the second half, forest and open sections alternate before the first houses appear on the approach to Emmetten. Shortly before the finish, the descent passes Restaurant Dorfklatsch. After just over two hours, the sledging run ends in Emmetten; the Emmetten (Talstation) stop is only a few steps away.
