01/ Overview
The route
The magnificent view is what makes this lively sledging experience on the Stoos unforgettable. People who want faster-paced fun at the foot of the Fronalpstock should try airboarding on the separate slope.
The toboggan run starts at the upper station, immediately beside the Fronalpstock stop. Its highest point comes right at the beginning, at just under 1,900 m. The 1,921 m summit of Fronalpstock rises a little way off the route, while its western slope descends to Urnersee. From the start, the toboggan run heads steadily downhill across open slopes.
Over a distance of around two kilometres, the route descends some 440 metres. The run remains in open terrain throughout and leads from the upper mountainside towards Stoos without any significant counter-ascents. Between the start and the lower station, views across the broad, open mountain slopes remain largely unobstructed. Around half an hour after setting off, the run reaches the Fronalpstock lower station at just over 1,500 m. The ride ends there; the Mettlen stop is only a few steps away.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Sledding is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
