01/ Overview
The route
Stunning views await on the summit of the Rigi. The impressive sea of fog that often appears in autumn and winter lies at the feet of winter sports enthusiasts on the “queen of mountains”. This relatively steep toboggan run promises a fast and thrilling ride.
The four-kilometre descent begins directly at Rigi Kulm station. The start at around 1,750 m is also the highest point of the route; the actual summit of Rigi Kulm lies a little higher up. From here, the toboggan run heads downhill over the open mountain ridge. On the way to Klösterli, it descends a total of around 480 metres.
In its lower section, the route reaches the Rigiaa. For a short stretch, the stream runs close to the toboggan run before the route moves away from it again. Soon, the Maria zum Schnee chapel stands directly beside the route. From there, it is not far to Rigi Klösterli, where, after just under an hour, the descent finally ends directly at the railway station.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Sledding is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
