01/ Overview
The route
A short themed trail leads from Courgenay to the open meadows of Haut d’Airmont before returning to the village over gently undulating terrain.
The circular hike begins in Courgenay, although not directly at a public transport stop: the nearest stop, Courgenay, Noires Terres, is around 800 m away. Initially, a waymarked hiking trail leads through the built-up area. The Hôtel-Restaurant de La Petite Gilberte lies close to the route before the houses gradually recede from view.
The themed trail then heads out into the open countryside at Haut d’Airmont. Meadows and pastures dominate the landscape, with the modest elevation changes spread over gentle undulations. Much of the circuit runs outside the waymarked hiking trail network.
Only towards the end does the route climb to its highest point at around 515 m, not far from Mont Terri. From there, it leads through the open countryside back to the first houses and ends at the starting point in Courgenay.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
